全球人口数量持续增长,要填饱这众多人口的肚子,增加小自耕农土地上的作物产量刻不容缓。为完成这一目标,负担得起的土壤测试方法、施肥建议、满足作物生长所需且可及的最佳肥料是必须考虑的。“关爱土壤”移动实验室通过使用红外光谱法提供了负担得起的土壤测试,并通过稍微改进版的热带土壤肥力评价(QUEFTS)系统给小自耕农做出施用不同量的氮磷钾混合配比的施肥建议。采集于肯尼亚西部布西亚县和瓦圣吉术县共2107个土壤样品由“关爱土壤”移动实验室测试,土壤测试结果再通过基模分析和QUEFTS分析得出:1.更精确的土壤肥力分类;2.优化玉米生长所需的氮磷钾混合配比的规划。研究显示共划分了8个土壤基模,其中有4个占绝对优势。此外,对所有县做出4个肥料混合配比基模,这是基于玉米产量能达到5 t ha-1而做出的非常合理的且能满足植物生长所需的氮磷钾施肥配比。这4个肥料混合配比分别是:12:25:0、6:22:14、0:40:0、13:33:0(N-P2O5-K2O)。氮磷钾的推荐施用量与植物生长需求最佳的氮磷钾量之间的平均相对偏差分别是36%、-10%、0%。本文描述的方法,包括地图的绘制,在化肥工业决策、贸易商和决策人在生产方面及不同作物和地区特定的氮磷钾混合配比实用性等方面非常有用。
